Senior Product Control Analyst

An investment bank in Houston with physical and financial trading activities in oil, gas, and power is searching for a product control analyst. The product controller will interact with the multiple teams across the organization including accounting, finance, market risk, trading, and marketing. Responsibilities include measuring, valuing, and reporting the daily mark-to-market P&L; providing management commentary on trading activity; monitoring trader risk to ensure compliance with control policies and trader limits; ensuring proper derivative accounting and valuation standards are implemented, and supporting the month-end accounting control processes (i.e., balance sheet review, reconciliations to GL, month-end close, reporting requirements, etc).  Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in accounting (CPA is strongly desired) or finance; 3-6 years experience in an audit, accounting, financial control, or product control position in an oil, gas, or power company, investment bank, or Big 4 accounting firm (energy focus); strong working knowledge of energy derivatives and financially and physically traded instruments; ability to communicate the accounting implications of complex trading transactions; knowledge of US GAAP, and strong numerate and analytical skills.  Please submit resumes to This email address is being protected from spambots.
