A power & gas company with power generation, gas assets and retail load is searching for a power originator to manage customer relationships in the East and Midwest regions and to execute profitable commercial transactions and structures. Target customers include developers, generation companies/IPP, municipalities & cooperatives, commercial & industrial (C&I) customers, retail energy providers (REPs), consultants and other end-user organizations that procure power.

This is a work-from-home position (WFH), our client is flexible on geographic location. They have offices in the northeast and Houston.
Experience in both power & gas origination is a plus (not required) as our client has a robust gas business. The primary focus of this position is power origination. There is a secondary and complimentary focus on gas markets in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic and Midwest/Mid-Continent regions of the U.S. (LDCs, pipelines, storage operators, market aggregators, etc. and asset management arrangements, capacity related transactions, peaking transaction, etc.).
Educational and professional requirements include a bachelor’s degree; minimum 5 years of power origination experience desired; proven record of developing and closing profitable transactions; exceptional communication and negotiation skills; strong market knowledge of and customer relationships in PJM, NYISO, ISO-NE and MISO; experience transaction financial and physical structured products and derivatives; ability to work with the trade desk to add value to their portfolio; and can work with internal groups to manage the deal from inception to execution.
