The U.S. division of an established international energy firm which owns power generation, renewable and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) assets is searching for a Senior Accountant to support its LNG business. Responsibilities include:


  • Managing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable accounts and processes;
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports;
  • Preparing quarterly short- and long-term forecasted P&L and preparing monthly forecast variance analysis;
  • Calculating mark-to-market valuations for all derivatives and analyzing power and gas hedges for effectiveness;
  • Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts and balance sheet;
  • Consolidating all accounts and entities;
  • Preparing¬†footnotes for the annual financial statements;
  • Managing internal and external audit and tax requirements;
  • Calculating LNG unit cost and inventory valuation;
  • Participating in process improvement initiatives and system implementations; and
  • Monitoring and implementing new accounting standards and policies.


Educational and professional requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA required); 5+ years’ experience in corporate accounting (energy industry and/or big 4 public accounting experience preferred); a strong understanding of US GAAP, IFRS and tax issues; and proficient IT skills (Excel, ERP, ETRM).
